What do you think Womentor has done well so far?
- In addition to providing inspiration and strength to the mentees and mentors, Womentor helps to get the whole company on a journey of change and improvement. At Blocket, Womentor has created several ripples internally through commitment and actual tools that we as a company have been able to grasp and work with.
Do you have any ideas on how Womentor could develop in 2021?
- 2020 was a different year, now we keep our fingers crossed that in 2021 we can meet physically in connection with the meetings given that they are such fantastic opportunities for networking.
How is Blocket working towards a gender-equal industry in 2021, apart from its involvement in Womentor?
- We want more women to join the tech industry and this is a high priority for us. That's why we're part of Womentor. But we are also the main partner of the Female Founders event to recognize female tech founders and a gold sponsor of the DataTjej conference. We are also working internally to review everything from hiring processes to representation in our commercials," says Pernilla Nissler and continues:
- We believe that change starts from within, and today we have a gender-equal management team and an almost complete gender balance among our leaders. But this is only the beginning. By having gender equality as part of our daily work in basically everything we do, we can act as a role model and actively work towards a more equal workplace tech industry in the long run.
