"We want to promote gender equality in the tech industry"

Blocket is one of the host companies for TechSverige's change and gender equality program Womentor. Last week, Blocket's host day took place in digital format and the theme was value-driven leadership and gender equality.

- It is a strong network that openly shares challenges and tips. The insights are that we are all struggling with quite similar challenges and that we actually have a long way to go on the gender equality agenda. When we talked about values, we linked the discussion to Richard Barret's value model, which was very good and thought-provoking. My feeling was that many people found it rewarding and that everyone gets something out of it when you invest the time to participate," says Blocket's Marketing Manager Martina Göransson, who gave a talk called "An inclusive culture".

- I tried to tell you about how we at Blocket work with these issues operationally, concretely and practically and what the results have been.

According to Martina Göransson, there was a good balance between theory and concrete points during the day. Fredrik Bondestam, Gender Researcher, GU also lectured on "(In)equality - from problems to change" after Karin Ahlström from Womentor/Ardida started the program by talking about "Value-driven leadership - diversity and inclusion in context".

What are Blocket's expectations for the future work in Womentor?

- We are proud to be part of Womentor and to work to create a more equal tech industry, says Martina Göransson and continues:

- Bringing more women into leadership positions is an important goal for us and our participation increases our focus and our way of working qualitatively as well as goal-oriented with gender equality.
